Laurie A. Murphy, CPA

Laurie A. Murphy is the Director of Risk Management with Kreischer Miller who is responsible for establishing policies and procedures and monitoring risks throughout the firm. In addition, she monitors service delivery standards, the effectiveness of engagement letters, client acceptance and retention matters, staff competencies, as well as, quality control and research for the audit and accounting group.
A graduate of Colby College in Waterville, Maine, Laurie has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English. She earned her Masters of Business Administration in Accounting from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts. She began her career at KPMG Peat Marwick in Boston as a member of the Insurance Practice. Laurie transferred to Philadelphia, where she continued to practice in the insurance industry. Her clients included publicly traded and mutual clients in the property and casualty and life insurance areas. After leaving KMPG Peat Marwick, Laurie became Quality Assurance Manager at a regional public accounting firm before joining Kreischer Miller. Laurie is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. |
