    Kreischer Miller Tenure

I’ve been with the firm since 2005 and started my public accounting career here.

How has Kreischer Miller influenced your career?

To me, my career and my experience at Kreischer Miller are synonymous. I have had the opportunity to grow here as a professional, but more importantly, as a well-rounded individual.

Since I joined the firm, I have and will continue to experience all the things that life throws at you – marriage, children, loss, failure, success. Through these experiences, I have been given the respect and flexibility by my fellow team members to figure out what works best me and my family. For 7 years, that meant working a reduced schedule. I was not just provided flexibility in the number of hours I worked, but I was also given the latitude to define the “how” that worked best for us. I was always able to have an open and honest dialogue with my professional support members (aka my “people”) to determine the ways in which I could continue to develop professionally, but also address the needs of my young family. When our family was in the position that permitted additional time to dedicate to my career, Kreischer Miller welcomed me in an increased capacity.

These life events and work transitions were far from flawless. I have had hours upon hours of “couch sessions” with my people, guiding me along the way. They have been, and continue to be, the people who lift me up when I need a boost, or tell it like it is, even if it is tough to hear. I believe this is a crucial component to overall success and satisfaction. My life is not all figured out. How I integrate my career and my life will always be an area that will need maneuvering. I have no concerns that all aspects of my life are fulfilled with the Kreischer Miller team behind me.

What is your advice for other women?

    1. Find your people. As they say, it takes a village.
    2. It is up to you as an individual to design a life and a career for yourself. Be honest about your needs, and don’t be hesitant to ask the questions that will help you be the best individual and professional you can be.
    3. Don’t be afraid to be different.
